The Spring Summer 2012 Collection from Oscar de la Renta, has me desperate to book the next flight out of England to a warmer climate.
The influence of Spanish design is recognisable in the crisp white fabrics of the new Spring 2012 collection in contrast to the bold brights.
The latest Spring Summer 2012 Campaign was shot by Craig McDean and features stunning American model Karlie Kloss. Amongst the top 50 models in the world, Kloss is also known for her training in ballet and her dancing background proves a success in the campaign in which her posture and pose strike confidence. That same confidence only too well known in the Spanish art of Latin dance. The influence of Spanish costume is subtle in the design of some of the more elaborate gowns.
There is a flamboyancy of shapes in the new collection in particular the ankle skimming, volumised dress which we see finished off with an exquisite eyelet lace three quarter sleeve top.
Moving onto the Ad Campaign itself ,we are confronted with the minimalist use of black and white , which provides a semi blank canvas in which stylist Alex White positively injects a dash of vibrant colour.
The extremely natural make-up teamed with a neat side chignon bun does not allow our attention to distract from the detail of the designs. Large jewelled ear-rings complete the ensemble, despite being such a confident addition to the outfit the focus maintains fixed on the extravagance of the designs.
As with other collections this year, yellow sets to be a trend we can expect to see right through to summer along with bright white which was prominent on the Oscar de la Renta catwalk back in September 2011.
