Marcobologna first came into the spotlight at The Vogue Talents Corner during Milan’s fashion week SS 2012. The initiative that aims to give ‘the designers of tomorrow a voice’ has done exactly that for Marco Giugliano and Nicolò Bologna, the young designers of Marcobologna.

 

 

Marcobologna first started designing jewellery but the enormous creativity of the Milanese duo inevitably led to them becoming involved in fashion. The pair started to digitally print their jewellery designs onto their clothing collections thereby creating a decadent and distinctive style.

 

 

Their AW 2012-13 collection has been created in partnership with Grazia Bagnaresi. The modern designs are both beautifully and expertly cut. The new collection reflects not only the colours of their jewellery but also mirrors their designs. In some cases the clothes are actually embellished with jewels.

 

 

The clothes look even more spectacular when they are worn with their matching accessories. The jewels and clothes are fit for a Queen - just in time for Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

A/W 2012-2013 HAUTE COUTURE WEDDING GOWNS BY YANIV PERSY

One can only stare in awe at these amazing wedding gowns from Yaniv Persy from his 2012-13 Haute Couture Autumn Winter Collection.

 

The bold strong lines of the designs are complemented by the timeless, classic feel of the gowns.  If you want to look like and feel an Haute Couture Princess when walking down the aisle Persy's gowns would definitely be the ones for you.

 

 

 

 

Graduating “with excellence” from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel Yaniv Persy was awarded for “Modern Femininity” at the LCDA Awards and awarded as “Promising Young Israeli Designer” at the I.C.E Awards.
 
In 2007 he moved to Paris from South America, where grew up - having moved there from Israel.  He was deeply influenced by the classic elegance and masterful drape of local Parisian fashion designers.
 
 
Persy collaborated with John Galliano ,where he worked under Steven Robinson & Elisa Palomino, John Galliano’s right hand at the time. He was eventually appointed Creative Director for Apostrophe (designing of prêt-à-porter exclusive line), and finally ended up in Florence, Italy, where he began to collaborate with the house of Roberto Cavalli. 
 

 

 
Following his successful collaborations with leading international designers such as, Donna Karan, Lanvin - Alber Elbaz, Apostrophe, and Roberto Cavalli Yaniv Persy finally established and launched his own label, PERSY LTD in 2009.

Fashion Weeks can be as exciting as they can be tiring, you see so many beautiful designs, meet such inspiring designers that sometimes you can't take it all in and you get back onto your train or flight and try to make sense of it all.  Obviously, the only way around this is to be extremely focused, plan ahead meticulously and only go to see what you had planned to see, no distractions allowed.......unless...........

 

Anaikka Autumn Winter 2012-13 Collection Modelled at the Spring Up Showroom in Milan

 

Unless you happen to be at a rather marvellous showroom in Milan (Spring UP in this case) and while the showroom manager is intent on showing you the collections you had asked to see when arranging your trip (marvellous collections we might add, some which we have already featured or will feature on the blog) your gaze keeps wandering off to a rail with exquiste, flamboyant, glittery and intricate designs.

Who is the designer we ask? The manager's face lights up as she walks us to the rail and introduces us to ANAIKKA, designed by Indian designer Kanika.

 

Rich embroidered pieces, an orient culture blending in a pot with modern shapes and styles.  Rich bold colours, intricate decorations and exquisite workmanship make Anaikka's designs a delight to see and to wear!

 

     

 

A hit with celebrities including Sarah Mac Lachlan who wore the collection for her world tour in 2004, Mischa Barton, Kimberly Stewart, Paris Hilton, Rihanna, Ashanti, Brandy, Vanessa Minnillo, Tyra Banks and Nicole Linkletter for America’s Top Model, Miss Universe 2007, and Jenny McCarthy for her top picks for summer 2005.

 

        

 

Anaikka's  Accessories were featured on the halftime show for Superbowl 2012. Madonna put on an amazing show and her dancers wore Anaikka Accessories during the Vogue performance.
